As a father of 2 small girls, I am always attentive to their needs, especially when they don’t feel that good or annoyed. Whenever they are sick, I go out of my way to make them feel comfortable, and help them feel better, or forget about the illness. I’d like to believe that I’m doing a fairly good job, but I think Geof Grubb is doing a much better job than I do.
Geofs daughter, Layla, which is 1 year old is suffering from cataract, which is an eye illness that blurs the vision, and might cause blindness. In order to try and treat the problem, Layla has to wear an eye patch on her eye for 2 hours, every day, which can be very annoying. To try and ease the experience, Geof decided to make that time a bit more fun, he decided to create illustrated eye patches for Layla. Each day she will get an eye patch with a different drawing, and they would make it as a game. She will act and dress to fit that day’s theme.
Below are some of my favorite illustrated eye patches. You can check also Geof’s instagram page, to see additional eye patches.
I hope Layla will get better, and won’t need those things on her eyes anymore, although it seems she is having fun, most of the time.
